All of the leather used in the Rustico leather products is Top Grain Cowhide leather, purchased from tanners in the United States, and in most cases is thicker than what the competition uses. Working with thicker leather makes production more difficult, but the end result is a product that is very durable and which will not rip or tear with use and age. All of the leather does weather and age naturally though, adding to the personality of the item. Some of the pieces already have scars and other natural markings which have been tastefully incorporate into designs and which improve the appearance of your leather journal over time.
